COREA DEL SUR

Condiciones sanitarias y calidad asistencial: La atención médica es de calidad, aunque cara, está disponible en Seúl, Posan, Daegu y otras grandes ciudades.

Los hospitales de Corea disponen generalmente de buen equipamiento. En Seúl trabajan dentistas generales o especializados altamente cualificados. Sin embargo los grandes hospitales suelen estar llenos y hay que esperar mucho tiempo, aunque se solicite una cita. En Corea no hay hospitales internacionales. Sin embargo los hospitales para tratamientos de urgencia, los hospitales generales y los hospitales privados hacen funcionar clínicas internacionales para extranjeros.

 

Curiosidad: Seúl es la capital de la cirugía estética. Un negocio que mueve 4.400 millones de euros al año y cuenta con 2.000 especialistas colegiados. Un 20% de las surcoreanas se ha sometido a una operación de cirugía estética sobre todo para retocarse los párpados (blefaroplastia) y la boca.

 

Sistema sanitario

  • Tipo de sistema sanitario: La hospitalización se realiza previo pago de un depósito que cubra el coste previsible de la atención médica, y en algunos casos se exige declaración de aval prestada por un ciudadano coreano.
  • Red asistencial y proveedores sanitarios en la zona: Los médicos normalmente han estudiado en el extranjero y por lo general hablan inglés. Sin embargo, el personal de apoyo y de enfermería no. Los hospitales a veces cobran una prima por sus servicios (exámenes y el cuidado) al pasar por la clínica internacional.
  • Sistema de cobertura de salud: La Corporación Nacional de Seguro Médico (NHIC), es el único organismo asegurador público que gestiona el sistema del seguro médico bajo la supervisión del Ministerio de Sanidad y Ayuda Social. Consultar su web
